Our E-Mail and Internet addresses are the only one that does not change – and of course our newsletter!

1) ENCAD: Printing Direct-to-Vinyl

A new wide-format printer enables printing direct-to-vinyl. Outdoor printing without solvents, now it’s possible. Encad, Inc. is offering sign printers an affordable, solvent-free alternative for producing wide-format, direct-to vinyl signs that are as durable as they are vibrant. The new  VinylJet™ 36 printer from ENCAD is a 36-inch, 600 dpi, full-color printer that enables aqueous printing on uncoated/untreated vinyl media. It does it through proprietary new ENCAD technology and DuPont™ ink technology, including at first the AquaVinyl™ Technology, a printing system that features an internal heater that pre-heats the vinyl as it moves across the platen for optimal in reception. At second the AquaVinyl™ Ink, a new, infrared-curable ink for the VinylJet 36, formulated to produce vibrant color. Because the VinylJet 36 printer is an aqueous printer, it can be operated without special ventilation. The printer sets a new standard for outdoor sign production. It gives Sign shops a way to produce high-resolution banners, four-color signs and other small-run projects without the labour and set-up costs of screen-rinting or pressure-sensitive vinyl laminates.
