yet still having in mind that its main focus is based on the one way see
through effect. Though it is indispensable to have a complete black reverse
side in order to get the amazing one way, see through effect. This challenge
has kept many manufacturers of textiles busy but mostly without success.

29) Hexis: A vinyl that sticks to virtually any surface
Hexis
have introduced a new high tack vinyl film that will stick to hard to adhere
to substrates such as trashcans, garbage bins or other non-polar plastics.
The two new inkjet printable products are the VCR3000WG1, a 100μm gloss
white intermediate PVC with a special high tack clear permanent solvent-based
adhesive on a 145g/sqm PE-coated liner with an outdoor durability of up to 4
years and the VCR200WG1, a 70μm gloss white high performance PVC with a
special high tack clear permanent solvent-based adhesive also on a 145g/sqm
PE-coated liner and with an outdoor durability of up to 8 years. The two
products are available in rolls of 1370 mm or 1600 mm wide by 45 m, 100 m or
200 m long and are suitable for solvent and eco-solvent inkjet printers. The Hexis laboratory have created a media with a heavier coat
weight of adhesive in order to allow the product to be more aggressive on
hard to adhere surfaces (low energy surfaces), such as Polyethylene (PE),
Polypropylene (PP), Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile
Butadiene Styrene (ABS). Things like trash bins, canoes, motorcycle fairings
can all now have graphics put onto them. Data sheets and samples are
available directly from Hexis or from local
distributors.

31) JM: Textiles for light boxes and self-adhesive textiles
Junkers & Müllers
has developed fabrics for two new applications that until now had no textile
solutions. Visitors to JM’s exhibition stand at
FESPA were able to see the results at first hand. Among a range of other new
products the company from Mönchengladbach presented
a fabric for use in light boxes as well as a self-adhesive fabric. Junkers
& Müllers presented its two new products Mediatex Lightbox and Mediatex Self-Adhesive. The fabric for light boxes stands
out particularly through its high degree of tear-proofness.
A micro-porous coating ensures that the necessary print brilliance is
achieved when back-lit so that even solvent-inks shine brightly without the
loss of any color. Mediatex Lightbox
will shortly be available in widths of up to 3.15 m and can be printed on
with solvent and UV inks. Mediatex Self-Adhesive is
a reusable, self-adhesive fabric that above all offers excellent handling
characteristics. It can easily be applied blister-free and does not lose its
shape on removal as the fabric has little stretch. It can therefore be used
multiple times without difficulty. This fabric is available in two finishes
in widths of up to 1.52 m, optimized for solvent inks as well as water-based
inks.

37) Hahnemühle: Epson certifies three Hahnemühle papers
Epson has
approved three Fine Art inkjet papers from the Hahnemühle
Digital FineArt Collection for its Digigraphie program in France. Photo Rag 308, Photo Rag Satin
310 and Museum Etching 350 are artists’ papers with a premium inkjet coating
from Hahnemühle. They are extreme age resistance
and are therefore ideal for the long-lasting FineArt
prints in the Epson Digigraphie program. With its Digigraphie® program Epson allows artists to create
limited, authenticated and certified editions of fine art prints. The prints
must be produced using Ultrachrom or Ultrachrom K3 inks on professional Epson printers using
papers specially designed for the Digigraphie
program. The main criterion for including the Hahnemühle
papers in the Epson Digigraphie program: the age
resistance of the papers and the corresponding longevity of the prints using
the pigmented Epson inks. The Wilhelm Research Institute (WRI) in the USA regularly tests the light
fastness of the inks of leading printer manufacturers such as Epson, HP and
Canon on Hahnemühle Digital FineArt
papers. The WRI certifies the pure natural papers an archival stability of
between 60 and more than 200 years – depending on storage and presentation
and depending on the inks used.
