More information: http://www.mutoh.eu 8) Seiko: New Generation ColorPainters H2-104s/H2-74s
Seiko I Infotech added a new generation of ColorPainters
to its product range. The well-introduced H Series printers now come as
“ColorPainter H2 series” with improved quality features. The new
“ColorPainter H2” series includes two sizes, the “H2-104s” for 104 inches and
the “H2-74s” for 74 inches. Two color configurations are available for both
size printers: a 4 color configuration for higher productivity and better
economy, and an 8 color configuration for better image quality true
gray-scale printing. The new ColorPainter H2 series has unmatched productivity
as it prints images with consistent color density at a maximum printing speed
of 100 qm/h and 50 qm/h for 4 color and 8 color configuration respectively.
Several new innovative printing functions are standard in the H2 series
including “Smart Nozzle Mapping”, which offers the ability to remap a clogged
nozzle instead of having to replace a print head. The DDP (Dynamic Dot
Printing) Technology offers the ability to jet 3 different drop sizes per
print pass, which enables the printer to print at maximum printing speed
without density loss while maintaining fine graininess even at low printing
resolution. More information:

Summa released a handy tool for its F1612 cutting
table: the Basket. This Basket is specially developed to capture the cut-out
samples and the waste material from the F1612 in order to keep the workspace
clean. The F1612’s Basket is a separate unit mounted on sturdy rollers, so it
can be easily moved around. It includes also magnets to keep the trolley in
position when placed in front of the cutting table. The Basket can be placed
in different positions. The front part can be tilted to make the cutting
table easily accessible for the operator. Besides, the Basket’s front bar can
be moved to a lower position. This way the content of the basket moves up and
can be easily reached. To carry and idle it completely, the Basket can also
be taken out. With 25 years of experience building cutting plotters, Summa
delivers highly reliable and accurate products for the sign making,
labelling, vehicle wrap, aerospace and outdoor advertising industries. More information:

More information: http://www.star-flex.com 22) 3A Composites: FOREX smart is now SMART-X
Following the successful commissioning of the new 3A
Composites SMART-production line at the beginning of the month, the
well-proven all-plastic polystyrene sheet material FOREXsmart has been
renamed: SMART-X. For SMART-X, the all-plastic sheet material with a core of
expanded polystyrene and surfaces of impact-resistant solid polystyrene
(HIPS), is still unrivalled on the world market. This has been accentuated by
assigning SMART-X its own new designated product category, separate from the
FOREX family. The new name SMART-X also signals a change to the product
range: from now on SMART-X is also available in 2m width. As if that were not
enough: thanks to the new production line, the surface structure of SMART-X
has been enhanced. To create optimal printing results, the product now also
comes with a protective film on one side. The extremely lightweight and the
disproportionally high rigidity and flatness of SMART-X means it is ideal for
all types of signage, especially large-format signs or long and narrow signs.
SMART-X is also an optimal medium for self-supporting, free-standing
structures such as POS/POP applications. More information:

silicone rollers provide a high level of uniform quality. This means the
powerful model can reliably process pressure-activated materials up to a
thickness of 25 millimeters. The maximum width is 1400 millimeters and the
working speed can reach up to 4 meters per minute. "Our roller laminator
SEAL 54 EL has made a deep impact on the market, it is an ongoing success
story", said Frank Seemann, Marketing and Communications manager for the
SEAL brand, with delight. "Since the official sale start at the Viscom
2010, the machine has been sold five hundred times. That is fantastic and, at

Shiraz Software supports Royal Academy Schools
postgraduates with donation of RIP Server package to drive Epson digital
print suite. Following the endowment of grant and equipment provided to the
Royal Academy Schools by Epson in 2008, an expansive and versatile RIP system
was required to take full advantage of the suite's five high-quality
wide-format printers. Shiraz Software stepped up to the mark by offering the
prestigious establishment its RIP Server package, thereby giving students the
benefit of continuous software development undertaken with fine art
applications in mind, plus central server control for the Epson suite's
versatile printing machinery. Barton Hargreaves is the Epson Print Research
Fellow at the Royal Academy Schools, forming part of a team of art
professionals who guide postgraduate students through their interdisciplinary
education. The Epson suite is a vital part of their journey in print, and
Hargreaves combines his own technical background in traditional and digital
print methodologies with his experience as an artist to help students achieve
the ambitious projects they present for their interim and graduation
exhibitions. Only 17 postgraduates are accepted from some 800 applications
every year and, for both them and Hargreaves, RIP Server is a vital portal to
experimental and creative final pieces – as is the relationship with Shiraz
Software itself. More information:

center
HP announced that the Art Instituto Pavoniano Artigianelli,
based in Milan, Italy, has established Europe's first permanent HP Latex
technologies demonstration center to expand the knowledge about printing with
HP Latex Inks. The Art Instituto Italiano Artigianelli, established in 1870,
is one of the most famous and prestigious graphic arts schools in Italy. With
courses recognized by the Italian Institute of Education, it offers both
academic and vocational training for students aged 14 to 19, and continuing
education for those in employment. The building is in downtown Milan with
many classrooms, laboratories, equipment and machineries. The Institute
participates in the graphic production cycle: design, premedia, printing and
finishing. The new demonstration center will showcase a variety of
applications ranging from traditional billboards and posters to innovative
wraps and wallpapers, all produced using HP Latex printing technologies. The
centerpiece of the demonstration center is the HP Designjet L25500 Printer,
which will be used to offer personalized demonstrations. Fully operational,
the new HP Latex technologies demonstration center will be used to educate
students about the possibilities of printing using HP's Latex Inks, as well
as to host HP Open House events and demonstrations. The facility will be open
to sign and display print service providers and end-users looking to learn
about the potential of HP Latex printing technologies. More information:
